EYE PRIMERS: A MUST HAVE!!!

Happy New Month my sweethearts! I've been busy trying to understand my new toy, arrange makeup classes for my new students, prepare for a bridal makeup *cleans sweat*.i finally have time to update my blog! Today,I'm introducing you to eyelid primers and its uses, sit back and enjoy....

Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion

Two Face Shadow insurance.
Eye primers aid in the smooth application of eye shadow, prevent it from accumulating in eyelid creases, and improve its longevity. Eyelid primers are lotions, bases, gel, cream like substances used to make eye shadows pop and even out the skin-tone of the eyelid. They intensify the color of the eye shadows and keep them from smearing or creasing by reducing the oiliness of the lids.  It is applied all over the lid and up to the brow bone before applying any shadow.Primer is usually applied with a brush or your finger.

My Eyelid primers and Eyeshadow bases.

There is a big difference between applying eyeshadow with an eyelid primer and applying eyeshadow without an eyelid primer. its very vital to having "correct" makeup especially for fleshy toned looks, fashion looks, bridal looks. if a professional makeup artist does not have one of these, its like sacrilege!
Tara The makeup Eyeshadow primer

NYX HD Eyeshadow base

NYX eyeshadow base in White,Skintone and White pearl.

NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in Milk(the bestest)

There are different brands of eyelid primers like Mac, Mary kay, Nyx, Orekelewa, Urban decay, Two-faced insurance, Elf, Jordana etc

WHAT EYELID PRIMER DO YOU USE?

BRIGHT PINK LIPSTICKS! I'M BRINGING "PINKY" BACK!!!!

Fuchsia lipsticks, bright pink lipsticks, pink lipsticks with very blue undertones....i love them all! Pink is such a girlie color, it makes me feel so feminine, soft, delicate, elegant etc. Nicki Minaj is an avid fan of bright pink lipsticks and nude lipsticks with a tone of pink underneath. She made it her signature look and she does serious justice to it...tuale!!!
Nicki on Mac Viva Glam Pink Friday lipstick

Bright pink lipsticks used to be a fashion trend in the 80s' but presently its been recycled and am loving it!!! These days makeup brands like Mac, Zaron, Revlon, L'Oreal, NYC, NYX etc make bright pink lipsticks especially for women of color, so we aint scared to go pink! Now watch me go pink.......
Mac Amplified girl about town(gat)

lovely fuchsia shade

Mac Amplified gat with Zaron lip balm

Now tell me,how do i look?
 MAC AMPLIFIED GIRL ABOUT TOWN
Its one of the best known and loved MAC shades. Its a bright blue toned fuchsia shade, creamy, not very glossy or else its used with a balm and its long-lasting!!!

Jackelin Angel Pink(bought this for a steal)

yummyyyyyyy

loveeeeee it
JACKELIN ANGEL PINK LIPSTICK
Its matte in texture(extremely drying),long lasting in fact you have to scrub it off, comes out better when used with a lip balm and a pink or brown lip liner. For its price,i love the color pay off but its really dry on the lips. Its a perfect fuchsia to have.....if you are brave enough *grins*.

Zaron Sweet Kiss lipstick

A true pink!

Moisturizes with each application
Similar to Jackelin Angel Pink liptsick
  ZARON SWEET KISS LIPSTICK
Its a matte moisturizing lipstick that has less blue undertones,a velvet-textured lip cream that covers the lips with rich color. its so similar to Jackelin Angel pink but Zaron sweet kiss is creamier.

NYC Blue Rose 405 lipstick

A vivid blue purple lipstick

Refracts a violet iridescence

An evening or daytime NOTICE ME lipstick
   NYC BLUE ROSE 405 LIPSTICK
A fuchsia pink with very blue undertones, almost two toned balanced and perfect. i heard it could be a dupe for Mac Show orchid but Blue Rose is lighter. I've had this for a while now because its so blue toned i make sure my eye makeup is really light so the focus is on the lips.

Personally Mac Amplified girl about town is my go to bright pink lipstick,it fits my skin tone perfectly, easy to wear and its smells so goooooddddd!!!

P.S  Using a pink lip liner with pink lipsticks blends the color in with your skin tone especially if you've got full lips,i used Zaron lip liner in Fussy Fuchsia in most of my pictures.

 WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE PINK LIPSTICK?

please let me know your thoughts on bright pink lipsticks trending.

WUGLY MEETS BEAUTIFUL!!!

lovely,isn't it?
Yea,that's me....a Drag Queen wannabe.Sadly this is an Everyday/Occasion makeup look for the young, middle aged and older women in this beautiful town of mine*grins* . I did my very best through the help of some very naughty friends of mine(not calling names,y'all can relax) to recreate one of the most outrageous looks i've seen recently, about 3 days ago. My gals said the highlight on my brows were not loud enough so........

i look like a clown
THIS IS NOT AN EVERYDAY LOOK!!! if you are not attending a Halloween party, Costume party, Drag Queen Pageant/Show, Carnival then you shouldn't be caught dead wearing this makeup look!
A victim of this makeup look would ask "What is wrong with this look?" Well,I'll tell ya!
  • its a taboo to use a black pencil on my skintone and these brows are too thin!
  • Eyeshadow is almost non-existent due to lack of eyelid primer or eyeshadow base.
  • Shape of brows are not known to man,i'll call it the ROUARC brow.
  • The hightlight is usually too bright and not blended.
  • Lipstick and lipgloss are not blended, some ladies stil use black pencils on their lips.
  • Blush! Blush! Blush! usually not applied well, blended well and always on the reddish side.
i think the ladies guilty of this look were aiming for a Neutral look but got all of that instead(i really don't get it). Well i recreated this look and made it my Face of the Day(FOTD) :

MY VERY FIRST EYEBROW TUTORIAL!!!

Hey Wonderful pepo!!! TGIFFFFF!!!!!!! Oh yea!! i love you Friday, you make me feel so gooooodddd! *fluttering lashes* OK,now that I've paid tribute to FRIDAY, its time to get down to business! On my 1st blog post  MY LOVE FOR STATEMENT OR DRAMATIC BROWS,I promised to give an Eyebrow Tutorial *grins* Well......THAT DAY HAS COME!
Brows! Brows! Brows! Arched eyebrows, Shaped eyebrows, Bushy eyebrows, Groomed eyebrows...  Eyebrows are one of our most expressive facial features and finding the right shape for your face can frame your eyes, add definition to your bone structure and make you instantly more attractive. Having a poor eyebrow shape can totally offset your beautiful features. You could have a perfect foundation routine, eyeshadow blending technique, awesome lipstick application but all of that would be worthless if your brows look like this:

"Nike" brows are a NO! NO!

Bet y????

For a lot of fashionistas, these brows are obscene, sacrilege, disturbing and many more astonishing things. And if you decide to go without brows:

this is not right,lmao!
And when you don't shapen your brows, this is what you get:
Bushy Anne
Having good defined brows is the way to go! There are different types of eyebrow shapes, curved brows, soft and high arched brows, round brows, flat brows etc. i have a round face (all my round faced sistas say "yea, yea") so a soft or high arched brow really compliments me by elongating my face. Now I'm going to give a step by step tutorial on how i do my brows.

  PRODUCTS USED
Tara Orekelewa eyepencil in Brown
Jordana eyepencil in Coffee Bean
Zaron eyebrow definer
Mary Kay concealer Bronze 2
Black opal stick foundation in Beautiful Bronze

Brushes
Angled brow brush
Angled concealer brush
Mascara wand (spoolie)

my starting brows

i draw a thin line under my brow using tara orekelewa brown eyepencil
starting at the side of the bridge of my nose extending and stopping
at the arch of my brow then i extend that line to the outer
corner of my brow.

Now i draw another thin line on top my eyebrow using the same pencil,
stopping at the arch then connecting with the line drawn under my brow

i fill in the space between the brow lines using the jordana eyepencil
making sure i shade lightly at the beginning of the brow

After dabbing my angled brow brush on mary kay concealer,
following my arch,i clean or conceal my brow bone area
to the outer corner of my eyes,i also clean the area at
the beginning of my brows
I use my finger to blend the concealer into my skin
to give a precise and clean look

Then i dab my brow brush on the black opal foundation which
is my skin tone shade, clean up the area above my brow
to give a defined arch.

I use my finger to blend the foundation into my skin

Then i use the angled brow brush in front of my brow
to shade that harsh edge, giving it an airbrushed effect

I use my angled concealer brush to apply powder to
the areas i used concealer and foundation on to
prevent creasing.

Tadaaaa!!! The Finished look!

So how do you fill your brows?

  Ciao!!!
