RED LIPS: A BOLD FASHION STATEMENT!!! Part 1

RED LIPSTICKS......It's the beauty product that can take you from zero to sexy in a few seconds and is loved by women the world over - RED lipstick. A crimson pout screams Hollywood starlet and every fashionista knows how much fun it is to play around with finding your perfect shade. Why do we women wear red lipstick?
  1.  RED is a color that makes women more sensual, energetic, sexy, and more bolder. Red lipsticks are associated with passion, seduction, and flamboyance.*Girl power*
  2.  An essential chink in the Armour of powerful women everywhere.
  3.  Men like it the most, because it subconsciously reminds them of reddened lips......and because men like it so much, women wear it to be popular with the opposite sex.
  4. Red lipstick is a source of strength,’ says Poppy King, creator of Lipstick Queen. ‘You put it on and suddenly you feel more capable than you did without it.’
  5. According to the British zoologist, Desmond Morris (The Naked Ape, 1967), the widespread practice of enhancing the RED color of the lips was due to a biological analogy with the labia, because these flush red and swell when women are aroused .*clears throat*
There are a lot of reasons ladies and some men*straight face* wear RED lipsticks sadly though some women of color feel RED is strictly for white ladies, THATS SO FALSE!!! As long you pick the right shade for your skintone,You are good to go *thumbs up*. For those "doubting thomas" ,these pics of our African American celebrities should prove my theory!
so 1940s! A really dramatic pin up look

Hey,SEXY LADY!!!

I hope this proves my case*bows*. Now am gonna walk you through the history on how this iconic lip color evolved over the years.  One of the first accounts of wearing red lipstick came from the Mesopotamian women (and often men) who used to adorn their lips with crushed semi-precious stones.Later, Cleopatra was known for crushing beetles and ants to get the right shade of scarlet for her hot lips.(things women do)

The phrase 'Kiss Of Death' was coined because of the harmful mixture of fucus-algin, iodine, and bromine mannite that Egyptian women used to create lipstick. Highly toxic, the concoction often led to serious illness and sometimes death. (thank God for technology) As the trend developed, safer ways to make lipstick were found and by the time Britain's Queen Elizabeth I took a liking to the product, it was made of beeswax and plants.

As the celebrity culture developed, so did the focus on what they wore and which beauty looks they favo-

ured. Marilyn Monroe became known for her sensual red pout along with other starlets like Elizabeth Taylor in the '50s. It wasn't until the '80s, when Madonna sported the shade, that MAC introduced their first line of lipsticks. The popstar wore the Russian Red shade, helping it enjoy global success.

Seriously, what more can i say! Pink, orange, purple, honey, nude, black lips are sexy and trendy but no lipstick does it better than RED, oh that gorgeous RED! Even the act of applying RED lipstick is empowering. By dressing your lips in red, it draws people’s attention to you, especially your mouth, and subsequently, the words that come out of it.*true story*

    7. A well couched up lecture for the uninformed.Red is usually a very potent colour, of high sensitivity to sense of feel and touch, and therefore a classic motif of admirable. Perhaps of note is the interconnectivity of the lips with other sensual organs of the feminine body which has been the bond of attraction to men. Women wearing Red lips therefore reasserts that notion that women are snsitive, adorable and needs attention for love.. John-Tokpabere Agberia
